The History and Anthropology BA (Hons) at the University of Sussex enables students to gain an in-depth understanding of global cultures and societies. Students engage with critical issues such as gender relations, migration, economic and political inequality, religion, health and reproduction, drawing on history and anthropological perspectives. The program combines research-led teaching with a strong interdisciplinary focus, giving students the skills to analyse how local communities and global processes intersect over time. Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, and workshops, with all assessment via coursework. Core modules across the years include engaged public history, historical consultancy, and a final-year dissertation. Graduates pursue roles in NGOs, media, research organisations, and advocacy.
