This program challenges students to critically examine major questions influencing societies, such as the nature of justice, the role of ideologies, and the impact of language and populism. The degree is jointly delivered by the Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities at the University of Sussex, enabling students to draw on expertise in both political science and philosophy. The curriculum combines academic training with practical experience: students have the option to engage in internships—such as with Westminster MPs—and work-shadowing political professionals. There are masterclasses with expert practitioners, and students benefit from regular debates, guest speakers, and conference opportunities. Graduates will have developed robust analytical, research, and communication skills, preparing them for roles in government, policy research, education, journalism, media, and business, both in the UK and internationally.
