The MArabic (Master of Arabic and Islamic Studies) at the University of Exeter’s Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences delivers comprehensive knowledge of the contemporary Middle East. Students engage with ethnography, economics, economic development, gender, politics, culture, arts, religion, and society. The programme includes intensive training in Arabic language, with no prior knowledge required. The second year is spent abroad in an accredited Arabic-speaking institution. Students benefit from the flexible selection of modules across social sciences and humanities, supported by world-leading experts and a multidisciplinary approach. Graduates are prepared for careers in government, NGOs, education, media, and business related to the Arab and Islamic world.
