The Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Biomedical Engineering at UBC is a research-based graduate program. It trains students extensively in the fundamentals of biomedical engineering and emphasizes extended research, culminating in a thesis. The program is highly interdisciplinary, providing students opportunities to work across biomedical engineering specializations such as medical devices, clinical diagnostics, imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics, and medical robotics. Graduates are prepared for PhD studies or research-centric roles in industry, hospitals, and academia. Students benefit from UBC's strong partnership between applied science and medicine faculties and access to advanced research facilities.
