UBC’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering provides a solid foundation in the principles of electronics, circuit analysis, electromagnetics, and related disciplines. The program begins with a foundational first year shared across all engineering students and proceeds into in-depth study of electrical engineering topics such as communications, power grids, intelligent systems, nanotechnology, microsystems, and biomedical applications. Students can specialize in areas such as Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Energy Systems, and Nanotechnology & Microsystems. Graduates are prepared for careers in fields like energy conservation, communications networks, intelligent products, and international power systems, or for graduate studies in engineering.
