UBC's Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics is a rigorous, competitive five-year undergraduate program at the Vancouver campus, administered by the Faculty of Applied Science and the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The program blends foundational courses in applied physics, mathematics, and engineering (electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics) with significant design, project-based learning, and industry co-op opportunities. Students specialize in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics after the second year. The curriculum is built to develop the skills needed for developing new technology, interdisciplinary engineering, R&D, and entrepreneurship. Program graduates are well-prepared for professional engineering, advanced research, or roles in technology sectors such as alternative energy, robotics, photonics, and biomedical engineering.
