The Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering) - Environmental Engineering at UBC's Faculty of Applied Science is a joint program with the University of Northern British Columbia. Students gain foundational knowledge in mathematics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science during the first two years (typically at UNBC), followed by more in-depth, hands-on study in engineering principles, environmental remediation, wastewater management, and sustainable design at UBC. The curriculum includes team-based projects, fieldwork, and a capstone design project. Graduates are equipped to address real-world issues related to clean water, pollution control, remediation, and sustainable infrastructure, and are prepared for careers in government, industry, and consulting, or for further academic study.
