The UBC Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is an intensive 11-month teacher education program designed to prepare future educators to teach in grades 8–12 in British Columbia and beyond. Teacher candidates learn to teach one or two teachable subjects and engage in a range of contemporary educational topics—including adolescent development, inquiry-driven instruction, digital pedagogies, and social justice. The 2025/26 program includes the option to participate in a new Digital Pedagogies & AI pilot for those specializing in English and/or Social Studies.
