UBC’s Bachelor of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering) offers a blend of hands-on project-based learning and rigorous academic theory. Students begin with a foundational first year in engineering fundamentals, then enter the Mechanical Engineering specialization from the second year onward. The program provides strong core knowledge in mechanical engineering while allowing for specialization through program options (e.g., Aerospace, Mechatronics, Biomechanics) and electives. Graduates develop analytical, design, and problem-solving skills applicable to sectors such as energy, healthcare, aerospace, manufacturing, and more. Enhanced learning opportunities include co-operative education (co-op), global exchanges, and options for a Minor in Science or Arts.
