The Master of Arts in Gerontology at Simon Fraser University (SFU) is an interdisciplinary graduate program offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, designed to train students in quantitative and qualitative research methods focused on issues in gerontology, behavioral science, and the social and health domains of aging. The program offers two concentrations: Environment and Aging (focusing on planning, design, and evaluation of environments for older adults) and Health and Aging (critical analysis and research on health care systems and strategies for health promotion among older adults). The curriculum equips students with advanced knowledge and research skills for roles in policy, planning, and service delivery for older adults, and leverages resources from the Gerontology Research Centre at SFU. Students choose courses from both core methods and electives in their primary areas of interest.
