This program is highly interdisciplinary, focusing on engineering problems encountered in medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, assistive devices, medical electronics, biomedical imaging, and biophotonics. Students receive a strong foundation in both engineering skills and biomedical science, taking courses such as biomechanics, physiological systems, general chemistry, computing science for engineers, and more. The curriculum includes core courses, lab work, general studies, and mandatory co-op work experience, giving students industry exposure and practical skills for careers in medical technology, hospitals, research, and biotech industries. The program is accredited and designed to prepare graduates for professional engineering licensure and further graduate studies.
