Gerontology is the multidisciplinary study of older adults and the physical, social, and psychological aspects of aging. The program explores issues such as population health and aging, technology and aging, social policy, and the prevention of elder abuse and neglect. Students gain practical experience through practicum and internship opportunities and learn how aging shapes public policy, healthcare, social services, and community support. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Simon Fraser University offers both undergraduate and graduate pathways in Gerontology, preparing students for careers in healthcare, public health, nursing, social work, public policy, and education.
