The Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences at Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Environment offers three stream options: geology, environmental geoscience, and general earth sciences. The geology and environmental geoscience streams are designed to align with the academic requirements for professional licensing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), preparing graduates for careers as geologists or environmental geoscientists. The curriculum covers foundational science, mineralogy, applied geophysics, environmental geoscience, chemistry, hydrology, soils and climatology, and field training. These streams particularly emphasize both theoretical and applied geoscience, environmental processes, and professional practice requirements.
