The MBA/MLIS Combined Program at the University of Alberta enables students to earn both the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degrees. This is a three-year, inter-faculty joint degree, providing expertise in management and advanced library/information science. The program’s structure is approximately: Year 1 (MLIS core and electives), Year 2 (MBA core), Year 3 (combined electives and capstone). Students gain strong cross-disciplinary skills, positioning themselves for leadership roles in libraries, archives, and information organizations where business acumen is increasingly valued. The full-time program is delivered on campus; part-time study is permitted up to 6 years.
