The Master of Nursing with a Specialization in Aging is a graduate program offered collaboratively by the Faculty of Nursing and the Department of Human Ecology at the University of Alberta. Students can choose either a thesis-based or course-based route, both focusing their culminating project (thesis or capping exercise) on aging and the health issues of older adults. The curriculum is designed to develop advanced nursing practice skills and leadership in aging care, and includes coursework relevant to research, education, leadership, and clinical practice involving older adult populations. The program can typically be completed in two years and one term of full-time study. Online and part-time options are available.
