The Professional Agrology Specialization at McGill University's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences prepares students to become professional agrologists, qualifying them for membership in the Ordre des agronomes du Québec (OAQ), which is required to practice agrology in Québec. The program is not a standalone major; it must be combined with the Major in Agro-Environmental Sciences and another recommended specialization (e.g., Animal Production, Ecological Agriculture, Plant Production, or Agribusiness). The curriculum covers the scientific, biological, and management aspects of cultivated plants and animals as well as agricultural legislation and professional conduct, combined with hands-on experiences through on-campus facilities. Graduates pursue careers such as agrologists, farm advisors, agricultural consultants, or continue to graduate studies.
