The Organizational Effectiveness major at The Wharton School is designed to educate students in cutting-edge theory and practice related to employee management and organizational design. Students learn to understand individual and group behavior, build management systems and organizational structures to support business strategy, and develop expertise for leadership, consulting, and analytical roles. The major serves those pursuing leadership positions focused on employee management, consulting in organizational effectiveness or management, or balancing technical and behavioral management for greater career depth. The program spans leadership, negotiation, power and politics, management of change, people analytics, and related fields. Minimum requirement is 19 course units for graduation, with 4 units beyond the management core dedicated to organizational effectiveness specialty courses. Courses include Leading Across Cultural and Relational Differences, Executive Leadership, Negotiations, Strategic Management of Human Assets, Power and Politics in Organizations, Managing Organizational Change, People Analytics, and others.
