The Master of Science in Translational Research (MSTR) at the University of Pennsylvania equips students with the methodologies, principles, and skills necessary to bridge basic scientific discoveries and clinical application. Housed within the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT), the program provides coursework, formal mentorship, laboratory experience, professional development, and practical exposure to protocol and grant development. Students can pursue concentrations such as Discovery, Translational Therapeutics and Regulatory Science, Entrepreneurial Science, and Bioinformatics. The aim is to train investigators who can move research efficiently along the translation continuum from concept in preclinical systems to proof-of-concept and dose selection in humans.
