The Medical Sciences (MSc, Thesis-based) program at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine is designed for students aiming to pursue independent scientific careers in academia, industry, health organizations, and government. The program offers a broad spectrum of research specializations, supported by collaborations across the Cumming School of Medicine. Students undertake advanced coursework specific to their area of research, participate in seminars and journal clubs, and must complete a significant original research project culminating in a defended thesis. Research integrity training and the integration of sex and gender considerations in research are required program milestones.
