The Master of Kinesiology (MKin) at the University of Calgary is a course-based graduate program that provides advanced theoretical and practical education in exercise physiology and related areas. The program emphasizes both classroom learning and extensive hands-on practicum experience, preparing students for careers in health and wellness, chronic disease management, occupational evaluation, and high-performance sport. Topics covered include integrative and clinical exercise physiology, advanced fitness assessment, exercise prescription, clinical practicum, training and dietary strategies, sport psychology, and effective communication and collaboration. Graduates are eligible to pursue the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology’s certified exercise physiologist (CSEP-CEP) exam. The program is typically a final, non-research degree.
