The Bachelor of Arts in Art History at the University of Calgary analyzes art and architecture across a range of historical, geopolitical, and cultural contexts. Students develop critical analysis, writing, and research skills by exploring traditional media (painting, sculpture, architecture, photography), as well as contemporary practices like digital technologies, indigenous media, performance art, and feminist/postcolonial perspectives. The curriculum supports integration with courses in classics, film, religion, or history. Graduates are equipped for roles in museums, galleries, non-profits, or further academic/professional study.
