The Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) at the University of Calgary is a research-intensive undergraduate program in the Faculty of Kinesiology. It is designed for students seeking deeper engagement with the field of human movement science through a major research project and mentorship by faculty. The curriculum covers anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, motor behaviour, social/cultural aspects, and more. Honours students must complete KNES 590 (Honours Thesis), actively engaging in independent research under faculty supervision, submitting progress reports and a written thesis. High-achieving graduates receive 'With Honours' or 'First Class Honours' on their diploma and transcript, preparing them for graduate study or careers in sport, health, coaching, and research.
