The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary offers several Bachelor of Education (BEd) pathways to prepare students to teach in Alberta's K–12 classroom system. Students may choose the Four-Year On-Campus BEd or the Four-Year Community-Based BEd pathway. The K-12 Route is available via the Community-Based pathway and allows students to focus entirely on a teachable subject and work towards certification to teach all grades (K–12). The program integrates substantial field experience practicums and opportunities for face-to-face cohort learning every summer.
