York University offers both the Master of Applied Science (MASc) and Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science & Engineering through the Lassonde School of Engineering and Faculty of Science. The programs emphasize both theoretical and applied research in areas such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, software engineering, micro/nanoelectronics, biomedical engineering, power and renewable energy systems, and parallel algorithms and architectures. Students may select either a thesis-oriented MASc or an MSc with thesis or major project. Both MASc and MSc are research-intensive and prepare graduates for doctoral study or advanced roles in the technology sector. Students work closely with a supervisor on independent research.
