The MASc in Mechanical Engineering at Lassonde School of Engineering, York University is a research-focused graduate program designed to develop advanced knowledge and independent research skills in the field of mechanical engineering. Students work closely with faculty supervisors to conduct original research culminating in a thesis. The program features engagement in complementary skill development such as teaching, technology transfer, ethics, and professional skills. Research areas include, but are not limited to, thermal sciences, energy, transportation, robotics, advanced materials and manufacturing, optomechanical systems, biosystems, and solid mechanics. Students are actively involved in research activities from the outset and are required to form and report to supervisory committees annually. The program prepares graduates for professional careers in research, academia, and industry.
