The MA in Translation Studies at York University (Glendon Campus) is a research-focused graduate program designed for language professionals and graduates in translation or related fields. The program enables advanced research in translation studies, literary translation, translation theory, crowd-sourced translation, political texts, translation and ideology, and audiovisual translation. Classes are bilingual (English and French), and students may choose from three completion paths: thesis, major research paper, or coursework only. The faculty is internationally recognized, and the program offers both practical and theoretical training in translation. Students participate in a vibrant academic community, engaging in conferences, workshops, and research activities. Coursework includes core classes in research methods and translation studies, with a wide range of electives covering desire in translation, fictional approaches, history of translation, and more.
