The Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at York University, jointly offered by the Faculty of Health and Faculty of Science, is an interdisciplinary program focused on the study of the development, structure, and function of the nervous system. The curriculum is built around three specialization streams that students select at the end of the second year: Cellular & Molecular, Cognitive & Behavioural, and Systems Neuroscience. The first two years provide a broad foundation, covering core neuroscience concepts, biology, psychology, and mathematics, along with hands-on laboratory experiences. In the third and fourth years, students deepen their expertise in their chosen stream, culminating in a research capstone project. The program emphasizes experiential education through labs, case studies, simulations, and team-based projects, and offers opportunities for co-op placements. Graduates are well-prepared for neuroscience research, health technology, medicine, psychology, or graduate studies.
