McMaster University’s Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) program adopts a unique interdisciplinary approach integrating biological, behavioural, and population-based perspectives to the study of health, wellness, and illness. It is the only program in Ontario spanning all health sciences departments, including Medicine, Pathology & Molecular Medicine, Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences, and Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based, self-directed learning and small group collaboration. Students may specialize further from Year 2 in areas such as Child Health, or pursue certificates in Biomedical Sciences, Immunology, Microbiology, or Virology. The program is highly competitive and features extensive elective flexibility, preparing graduates for diverse careers or further studies in health and life sciences.
