MA English Literature at the University of Leeds offers advanced, specialist study of Anglophone literature and its contexts at the postgraduate level. Established as one of the UK's most comprehensive and long-standing MA programmes, the course allows students to build specialist knowledge and advanced research skills by selecting from a wide array of modules spanning topics such as Arthurian legend, medieval and Victorian studies, postcolonial literature, digital humanities, ecocriticism, US studies, and more. Students complete a foundational thematic module, select further specialist modules from three thematic areas (periods, focused study, cross-period themes), and undertake an independent research project with academic supervision. The program aims to develop critical thinking, project management, and communication skills applicable to academic or professional contexts.
