The Master of Public Health and Social Policy offered by the Faculty of Health at the University of Victoria from 2025 is an innovative, primarily online graduate program focused on collaborative action to promote population health and reduce health disparities through social justice approaches. The curriculum covers epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, social determinants of health, public health interventions, and healthy public policy. Students can concentrate in Social Policy or Indigenous Peoples’ Health, complete a 450-hour practicum in Canada or the US, and finish with a culminating project or thesis. The program emphasizes flexibility, community-based learning, and preparing graduates for roles in public health practice, research, government, and NGOs.
