The Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Victoria's Faculty of Health offers three accredited program streams: Advanced (for holders of a Bachelor of Social Work), Indigenous Specialization (for social workers in Indigenous settings), and Foundation (for students with a non-BSW undergraduate degree and human services experience). All streams focus on advancing skills in anti-oppressive, decolonizing, and socially just social work practice. The Advanced and Indigenous streams are delivered primarily through distance education with a mandatory one-week on-campus institute, while the Foundation stream is on campus. Graduates are equipped for leadership roles in diverse sectors such as health, education, housing, social justice, and policy.
