The Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Humanities, provides students with critical tools to evaluate myths versus truths, and to understand the evolving role of history in human society. Students may participate in study abroad opportunities like field schools. The curriculum covers Canadian, North American, European, and select non-Western histories, progressing from foundation courses (such as HSTR 100 and HSTR 201) to specialized upper-level seminars. The program equips graduates for careers in areas such as policy analysis, journalism, education, museum and heritage sectors, and public service.
