The Bachelor of Arts in Medieval Studies at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Humanities, offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the 10 centuries between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance. Students engage with medieval literature, history, art, and philosophy to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage that shapes the modern world. The program fosters skills in critical thinking and analysis, with opportunities to work directly with original medieval manuscripts and artefacts. Coursework includes studies in Latin or Greek, approved writing courses, and upper-level MEDI courses, with a total requirement of 60.0 units for degree completion. Graduates pursue a variety of careers such as curation, archival work, writing, education, and research.
