The Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Victoria combines rigorous studies in both disciplines, enabling students to explore mathematical concepts underlying physical phenomena and see the hidden symmetries in nature. The program allows for interdisciplinary research opportunities with professors. Students develop quantitative reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, making graduates suitable for careers such as data analyst, environmental scientist, financial analyst, government policy analyst, information technologist, and management consultant. Sample advanced courses include Topics in Mathematical Physics (PHYS 410) and General Relativity (PHYS 415). The program can be completed with or without an Honours option, and a co-op program is also available.
