This interdisciplinary undergraduate program explores both physics and ocean-atmosphere sciences, preparing students to use physics to investigate physical processes in the ocean, atmosphere, and climate, and to analyze the effects of human activity on the environment. Courses cover a foundational education in physics alongside specialized topics such as atmospheric sciences, oceanography, fluid mechanics, and climate modelling. Graduates are equipped for careers as climate modellers, physical oceanographers, meteorologists, environmental scientists, data scientists, and government policy advisors. The program is highly research- and application-oriented and allows students to declare their major after one year of general science studies. The program may also offer optional co-op placements for practical experience.
