The Bachelor of Commerce at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, is a four-year undergraduate degree designed with a 2+2 structure. In the first two years, students complete broad courses in social sciences, humanities, sciences, and foundational business subjects. Years three and four focus on core business disciplines and allow for specialization. The 'Financial Management – Accounting Stream' equips students with deep expertise in accounting, auditing, Canadian income tax, and financial measurement and reporting. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, with at least three mandatory paid co-op work terms. Specialization courses involve real-world case studies, professional preparation (CPA/CFA), and career-focused modules. Graduates commonly pursue careers as Chartered Professional Accountants, auditors, tax consultants, and other roles in finance and corporate accounting.
