The Secondary BEd Post-Degree Professional Program (PDPP) at the University of Victoria is an intensive, full-time program designed for students who already hold a recognized undergraduate degree. Over the course of 16 months, students receive both advanced pedagogical training and hands-on classroom experience, including two practicum placements in middle or secondary schools. The curriculum integrates Indigenous perspectives, social justice, and inclusive teaching practices. Graduates are prepared to teach one or two secondary subjects and are eligible to apply for a BC teaching certificate upon completion. The 2025 curriculum features a renewed structure with emphasis on decolonizing education, technology integration, and professional collaboration.
