Dalhousie University's MSc in Agriculture, offered by the Faculty of Agriculture, is a research-intensive, thesis-based graduate program. It is designed to equip students with advanced expertise for doctoral studies or careers in research and development, teaching, industry, and extension. Students work alongside international experts to tackle major challenges in sustainability, food security, and agricultural innovation, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The program offers specializations across a wide spectrum of agricultural fields, including agribusiness, animal and plant sciences, biotechnology, agricultural engineering, and food bioscience. Students must complete at least four graduate courses (3.0 credit hours each); the remainder are selected in consultation with their supervisor. Original thesis research is required and is defended by oral examination. Participation in teaching assistantships is expected, and the program encourages professional development through involvement in campus and research activities.
