Dalhousie University's Master of Nursing (MN) program at the Faculty of Health is designed for registered nurses aiming to develop as advanced practice clinicians, nurse leaders, or specialized practitioners. The MN offers three distinct streams: Mental Health and Addictions (for RNs with clinical experience seeking advanced skills), Nurse Practitioner (for RNs seeking preparation for NP licensure, focused on Family All Ages/Primary Health Care), and the Professional Stream (for RNs seeking theoretical and leadership growth in professional practice change and evaluation). The program is grounded in primary health care principles emphasizing accessibility, health promotion, participation, intersectoral collaboration, and appropriate technology. Students undertake a mix of seminars, coursework, research, and clinical practicums, depending on their stream.
