Dalhousie University's Bachelor of Arts (Major/Honours) in History delivers a comprehensive understanding of global, regional, and thematic history. The program spans pre-modern and modern eras, including Euro-Americas and Afro-Asias. It emphasizes research skills, oral and written communication, and critical analysis, preparing graduates for diverse careers and further study. Courses span Canadian, American, British, African, European, science and technology history, and more. Majors must complete HIST 2700.03 (Introduction to Historical Methods) early in their studies. The Honours option requires a deeper specialization including additional advanced courses and an Honours thesis project.
