Dalhousie University's Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering delivers a broad-based education combining chemistry, biology, math, and engineering principles. Students complete foundational engineering courses in their first year, select their discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering) at the end of Year 1, and begin specialized coursework in Year 2. The third and fourth years immerse students in chemical engineering technical areas such as chemical processes, fluid flow, and process design, with three technical electives available in the final year. A co-op option extends the program to five years with paid industry placements. Students may also earn a Certificate in Biomedical Engineering. The program prepares graduates for roles in fields such as biorefining, pharmaceuticals, food engineering, oil and gas, and more.
