The Bachelor of Science in Arctic Nursing (BScN) at Dalhousie University, delivered in collaboration with Nunavut Arctic College, is a four-year undergraduate program hosted in Iqaluit, Nunavut. It is specifically designed for Nunavut residents and emphasizes awareness and respect for Inuit culture. The curriculum covers contemporary nursing theories, primary health care, acute and community care, legal and ethical issues, and Inuit health and healing practices. Clinical placements occur in both urban and remote Northern settings, including a guided placement in Halifax and a final-year placement in a smaller Nunavut community. Graduates are prepared to write the NCLEX-RN exam and work as registered nurses across Canada, equipped with leadership skills suitable for northern and Indigenous health care contexts.
