Dalhousie University's Bachelor of Science in Physics and Atmospheric Science combines the study of energy, matter, and atmospheric phenomena. The program integrates foundational courses in physics, mathematics, and chemistry in the first year, followed by specialized upper-year courses including modern physics, electricity and magnetism, energy and the environment, oscillations and waves, computer simulation in science, and solar system astronomy. Laboratory work and lectures promote analytical thinking and problem-solving. Atmospheric Science components emphasize climate science and environmental issues. Students have opportunities for co-op education and undergraduate research. The program prepares graduates for careers in high-tech industries, government research institutions, academia, or further study in related fields such as physics, engineering, meteorology, and optometry.
