The Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Aerospace Science and Engineering is a research-based graduate program at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS), Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. Students are supervised by world-class faculty and undertake advanced research in aerospace systems, culminating in a thesis. The program includes coursework (minimum 2.5 full-course equivalents, all technical), research seminars, an ethics course, and a final seminar presentation. The MASc prepares students for further doctoral study or careers in high-level industry R&D. Students benefit from strong partnerships with the Canadian aerospace industry and are provided with a stipend to support living expenses, tuition, and fees. There are opportunities for emphasis in areas such as Aerial Robotics, Sustainable Aviation, or Sustainable Energy. Some top students may transfer directly into the PhD program after a year.
