The MSc in Dental Biomedical Sciences at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry is a research-intensive graduate program designed to develop critical and scholarly skills for students interested in oral health science and dental biomedical research. The program emphasizes research training, requiring both coursework and the completion and defence of a thesis. Year 1 focuses on coursework—core subjects include oral health science seminars, research ethics, and biostatistics—alongside development of the thesis project. Year 2 is devoted to thesis research and oral defense. Students participate in seminars, research group activities, and departmental events. Full-time students receive a stipend and tuition is covered. The program prepares graduates for research positions or further academic study.
