The MSW – Gerontology Field at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, prepares students to address the challenges facing older adults and their families through advanced social work education. The program offers comprehensive training in aging, clinical practice, family dynamics, and social policy, automatically enrolling students in the Collaborative Specialization in Aging, Palliative and Supportive Care Across the Life Course. Graduates work in community and institutional settings, engaging in policy, research, and direct support to enhance the quality of life for older adults. Required courses include foundational and advanced content on aging, clinical practice with older adults, policy, special issues, and a practicum.
