The Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto is a four-year undergraduate program housed in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. The first two years establish a shared foundation in engineering principles, design, programming, digital and analog electronics, mathematical modeling, and communication systems. Students then choose to specialize in either electrical or computer engineering, tailoring their curriculum with depth and breadth courses in areas such as machine learning, AI, robotics, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and renewables. The curriculum includes a mandatory minimum of 600 hours practical experience, with an optional Professional Experience Year (PEY) Co-op for industry exposure. Graduates are equipped for cutting-edge careers or advanced study in fields ranging from big data and autonomous systems to medical devices and sustainable energy.
