The Design of Architecture, Landscape, and Urbanism stream at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, University of Toronto, provides a comprehensive study of design processes, architectural methods, and urban systems. The program’s first two years comprise core courses in architectural design, history, technology, and landscape. In years three and four, students specialize in design through advanced electives, studios, and interdisciplinary coursework, preparing for graduate study or professional practice. The curriculum emphasizes design thinking, visual literacy, critical analysis, and the integration of architecture with landscape and urban contexts, building a foundation for advanced degrees or diverse careers in architecture, urbanism, creative industries, and related fields. The program is rigorous, studio-intensive, and rooted in contemporary and historical perspectives.
