The Pharmacology Specialist program at the University of Toronto (program code: ASSPE2082) is an intensive undergraduate science track offering in-depth training in the foundational and applied principles of pharmacology. Students learn about the therapeutic properties, clinical use, and mechanisms of action of drugs at molecular, cellular, tissue, and systemic levels. The curriculum combines lectures, laboratories, tutorials, and supervised research projects (including an optional senior research thesis) to prepare graduates for careers in medical research, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, government agencies, and further professional programs in medicine, pharmacy, or nursing. Students may also participate in the Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) for real-world work experience. Admission is highly competitive and the program is limited enrolment to ensure quality and faculty mentorship.
