The University of Regina’s thesis-based MA/MSc in Aging Studies is the only aging-focused graduate program in the prairie provinces. It offers interdisciplinary, research-oriented training that emphasizes both psychosocial and biological aspects of aging, in partnership with the Faculties of Arts, Kinesiology and Health Studies, and Social Work. The program is aimed at students from a wide range of disciplines—including health professionals—who seek advanced research skills or preparation for doctoral studies. Core topics include aging and health, biological mechanisms of aging, research methodology, and specialized gerontology knowledge. Graduates progress to healthcare, academia, and research careers, or further doctoral studies.
